Perhaps the ultimate studio EQ for mastering, offering powerful tonal control with character. The mastering version of the Manley Massive Passive features mechanically detented knobs for the gain and bandwidth controls. The Massive Passive is a passive design and not a "true parametric" EQ, as the gain and bandwidth controls intentionally interact. This allows for uniquely flexible tone shaping, but without consistent dB steps. The mastering version provides finely tuned filters that are specifically tailored for mastering purposes, allowing for both low and high frequencies to be processed, which are not covered in the standard version. The master gain trim control is a true 11-position 1/2 dB Grayhill switch, ensuring precise left/right matching and calibration.
