Chandler Limited TG Condenser Microphone The Chandler Limited TG Microphone is a large-diaphragm, transistor-based condenser microphone. The TG Microphone is unique in its range of functions and, as the name suggests, continues the series of innovative products with the typical TG sound. The TG Microphone features the unique EMI Tape Equalizer section, a Dual Tone System, a separate power supply and other features that make it an exceptionally versatile microphone that is recommended for applications where FET47, C414, U87 and U47 are typically used. The Tape Equalizer was taken from the NAB/IEC tape equalizer stage of the old EMI TG mastering consoles and has maximum influence on the sound of the TG Microphone; originally developed to compensate for tapes played back on devices with different standards, this allows the sound engineer to shape the sound at the source without having to resort to external peripherals later in the mix process. The possibilities for sound processing are further expanded by combining the Tape Equalizer with the high-pass filter, which can be switched between 50 and 90Hz. The Dual Tone System changes the input stage of the TG Microphone and ensures maximum flexibility when picking up different sound sources. Voicing A delivers the TG-typical sound with an emphasis on the midrange, while alternative Voicing B processes extreme sound levels and is therefore recommended for applications where a FET47 is typically used. The TG Microphone is powered by its own external power supply. In contrast to the typical +48V phantom power, the separate power supply has a big influence on the powerful sound of the TG Microphone, which is not familiar from transistor microphones. Further features are a switchable polar pattern (cardioid, omnidirectional) and a switchable 10dB level reduction. The scope of delivery includes an elastic suspension, a 4-pole mogami microphone cable (approx. 7.5m), a separate power supply and a wooden case for storage.
