Description

Active subwoofer, 12" woofer, 700W, 20Hz - 200Hz, DSP, 96kHz/24Bit, HEDD Lineariser, closable bass reflex tube, AES/EBU I/O. HEDD Bass 12 - overview: AD/DA conversion maximum: 96kHz / 24Bit Input Gain +/- 12dB Latency with activated HEDD Lineariser 30ms Phase Rotation: 0 / 90 / 180 / 270 Satellite offset: +/- 2m, in 0.5m steps Upper cut-off frequency (variable): 40 - 120Hz Lower cutoff frequency @ -3dB (normal / extended): 20 / 16Hz The HEDD Bass 12 is an active subwoofer with many adjustment options. The integrated DSP offers the possibility to adjust it optimally to the spatial conditions via controls on the back of the subwoofer. Since the DSP works completely digitally, HEDD offers its customers a digital AES/EBU input in addition to the classic analog XLR input. The advantage of this digital interface is obvious, as it directly saves two DA/AD conversion steps. On the one hand, the digital signal from the interface does not have to be converted into an analogue signal and on the other hand, the subwoofer does not have to convert the analogue signal back into a digital one, which it needs for using the integrated DSP. Absolutely true to phase! In addition to many adjustment possibilities in the frequency range, HEDD has also thought about the phase problems inherent in every loudspeaker. Thus, the experiences already made with the HEDD Lineariser Plug-in were used and firmly implemented into the studio monitors. On the digital level, the speaker-specific nonlinearities in the phase position are corrected and thus an absolutely phase-true output is guaranteed. The user is free to use the lineariser as he wishes. The lineariser can be deactivated on the back of the HEDD Bass 12 speaker if required. This is especially useful when recording, as the activated lineariser results in a playback latency of 30ms, which could disturb the musician while playing. Fully synchronous 2.1 setup possible If it is not possible to place the subwoofer and satellites at the same height, the HEDD Bass 12 offers the possibility of setting a delay for the satellites, which can compensate for distance differences of up to +/-2 metres. Together with the lineariser already mentioned, it is thus possible to set up a completely phase-true 2.1 monitoring system. Bass reflex or closed? Both please! As with HEDD's full-range studio monitors, the bass reflex tube of the in-house subwoofers can be closed off. With the foam plug supplied, the monitor can be closed off in no time at all and transformed into a closed speaker. A "CoP" (Closed or Ported) switch on the rear panel allows you to adjust the DSP to the setup you choose. With the subwoofers, you lose up to 6dB SPL when closed, but get a similar frequency response.
