Its circuitry is completely Class-A, it contains 3 transformers per channel from the noble manufacturers Carnhill and St. Ives and the Make Up gain is based on the circuitry of the Neve 1073 preamp. The limiter and compressor of the Heritage Audio HA609A can be switched on separately for each channel, and attack and release are also adjusted separately. The attack time is program dependent by default, but can be switched to Fast for material with heavy transients. The Heritage Audio HA609A is also suitable for all stages of production, from recording to mastering, thanks to its appropriately selected ratios. It is an all-rounder on single tracks, busses or the stereo sum, and allows smooth sound processing up to extreme pumping. However, it always gives the material the typical British, silky sound. After all, all controllers are either rotary switches or grid potentiometers, so that settings can be easily reproduced using notes.
