The cardioid characteristics of the pole elements as well as the possibility to achieve a cardioid application also in the bass range with an additional subwoofer illustrate the professional claim of the new flagship. A rear attenuation of 18 dB is achieved with the pole and 15 dB with the subwoofer. The LD-Systems MAUI 44 G2 also sets the tone when it comes to equipping the two-piece pole with twelve 3.5" neodymium full-range speakers and four 1" HF drivers with waveguide. The phase plugs on the six upper drivers improve the horizontal directivity, reduce the distortion and optimize the sensitivity below the crossover frequency for the tweeters. In addition, the four tweeters feature specially designed and optimized compression drivers coupled to a constant directivity waveguide to provide 120° of coverage across the width and 25° of focused vertical directivity. The curved design of the waveguide transports more energy in the high frequencies to listeners standing further away. On the input side, the LD-Systems MAUI 44 G2 offers two XLR IN connectors.
