The custom-built Midas input and output transformers guarantee high signal integrity and minimal sound colouration. With two combo inputs for microphone or line (XLR/jack) and two Hi-Z instrument inputs (jack), the preamplifier offers flexible connection options for a wide range of audio sources. The Behringer 1273 allows a gain of up to 80 dB and has a tone function that changes the impedance of the input transformer to optimize the sound quality for different microphone types. Both channels have buttons for phase, tone, insert, line, instrument and 48V phantom power, providing additional control and customization. The switchable equalizer section is based on induction and includes a passive third-order high-pass filter that effectively cuts unwanted low frequencies. The low frequencies can be boosted or cut at 35, 60, 110 or 220 Hz, while the mid frequencies can be adjusted at 360, 700, 1,600, 3,200, 4,800 or 7,200 Hz and the high frequencies at 10,000, 12,000 or 16,000 Hz. A 5-stage high-pass filter per channel (50, 80, 160 or 300 Hz) and a 7-segment LED signal level display round off the extensive functions of the Behringer 1273.
