Despite the small size it offers professional sound with excellent articulation. It is also easy to transport, has a light overall weight and is quick to set up and take down. The drums are manufactured by Sonor according to the proven CLTF principle, the wood layers are cross-glued at 90°. The tuning jacks of the AQ2 series from Sonor are completely equipped with the TuneSafe system, this sorgt for constant tuning, which no longer adjusts. The shell burrs are 45°, resulting in precise head contact and a focused, clear tone. The new Sonor Smart Mount tom suspension was developed in Germany and sorgt for low shell contact and liberated vibration. Sonor AQ2: Maple shell with TuneSafe All drums of the AQ2 Safari set are made of seven plies of maple. Three plies of Canadian maple are covered by two plies of Asian maple at the front and two plies at the back. This results in a warm and focused tone with a deep fundamental character and high dynamics. The Bass Drum measures 7.2 mm, tom and snare only 5.8 mm. This contributes significantly to the balanced and resonant sound. In addition, the individual layers are cross-glued at a 90° angle, the shell remains completely tension-free. The tuning pins are all equipped with the Sonor TuneSafe system. Also the exact 45° shell burr allows easy tuning and perfect head contact and additionally focuses the sound. Unique: Sonor Smart Mount The Toms of the Sonor AQ2 series are suspended by means of the Smart Mount System. This new mounting system for drums was manufactured by Sonor in Germany and convinces with minimalist design and high functionality. The suspension has only two points of contact with the drum shell and allows it to vibrate freely and unhindered. A suspension rail is directly incorporated into the Sonor Smart Mount System and additionally sorgt a high-quality buffer made of hard rubber between shell and rail for pronounced resonance and balanced sustain.
