From "brute" to "nuanced", anything is possible thanks to the versatile electronics. Steve Di Gioggio is mostly known for his deep and fast tones - but he has also made a name for himself as a jazz musician and therefore needs a flexible instrument. Paired with a convincing wood selection and excellent pickups, attack-rich tones with a long Sustain are no longer a problem. On the hardware side, the instrument makes no compromises: With its MR5 bridge and Gotoh tuners in Cosmo Black, the Bass is fully equipped. The Ibanez SDGB1 is visually rounded off by the impressive color selection and the luminous side-dot inlays, which provide an eye-catcher for the audience and orientation on dark stages. First-class woods and materials The body made of maple (top), ash (back) and okumé guarantee optimum sound and playing results. The fretboard is made of ebonol to enable nuanced playing. Ebonol is a synthetic material made from several layers of paper. The neck-through 9-piece neck was reinforced with graphite inlays and is also made of maple, bubinga and panga panga. Electronics The tones are picked up by passive Nordstrand Big Single 5 pickups and refined by an active 3-band EQ with variable mid-band. Thanks to the special pickup selection, the instrument produces a full and powerful - as well as clear - sound. Of course, the EQ can be switched to a passive mode - in this case, the treble control acts as a global tone control. Indestructible hardware With tuners from Gotoh and the solid in-house MR5 bridge, Ibanez relies on tried-and-tested material: each bridge rider is connected separately to the body to retain all the nuances of the string. This also has the advantage of allowing separate intonation control. The tuners are visually rounded off by the "Cosmo Black" color. VARI MID III The bass boost filter has its maximum at...
