What does the Prethos Advanced Preamplifier Technology do? The KSM44A utilizes the proprietary Prethos Advanced Preamplifier Technology. A new milestone in amplifier circuit technology, Prethos incorporates an internal circuit architecture that allows for unprecedented transparent sound reproduction. It enables extremely low self-noise (4 dB in cardioid mode), very high dynamic range and outstanding transient response. Linear and detailed sound The KSM44A is equipped with premium electronic components such as the two ultra-thin (2.5 µm) and 24k Gold coated low mass Mylar diaphragms.
