The shells are made of 6 layers of poplar (8 mm) and have a balanced sound with excellent bass content. Poplar shell and Bass Drum wooden hoops The shells of the Tama Imperialstar are made of 6 layers of poplar wood and thus come to a thickness of 8 mm, this creates a voluminous warm sound full of balance. The Precision shell burrs are cleanly milled on the top and bottom and provide an even skin contact, this is the prerequisite for the clean sound of the drum.
