The Hagstrom Fantomen Black Gloss is a six-string electric guitar that offers legendary playability and technical excellence in an edgier realm. Built with an asymmetrical solid-mahogany body and neck using a classic mortise-and-tenon joint, the Fantomen is equipped with an H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fingerboard, providing ultimate stability and tonal enhancement. These components combine to create an incredibly stable, resonant and responsive sonic foundation. A relatively thin 1.25" body is balanced and surprisingly lightweight with a 25.5" scale that provides a slightly sharper attack and more sustain than classic 24.75" guitars. The special neck joint design provides total access to all 22 frets. The Fantomen contains electronics that allow for a varied tonal palette ranging from classic, vintage colours to screaming metallic brilliance. Lundgren provided two different humbucker designs with No. 2 in the neck position and No. 5 in the bridge position. This combination covers a huge expressive range from smooth, warm tones to an extreme attack and intense dynamic output. Each pickup can be split to single-coil mode by means of push/pull switches incorporated into the tone controls for even more sonic flexibility.
