Originally created in 1958 by Ted McCarty as a modernized design for jazz musicians, the iconic Explorer found its most loyal following among fans of hard rock and metal. Offset mahogany body With its authentic shaping, the Explorer Custom Ebony remains true to the traditional lines of the classic and has a body made from solid mahogany. The neck is also made of mahogany in a balanced medium C profile, which is designed with a long neck heel (long neck tenon) and glued to the body. This not only provides additional stability but also proves to be a particularly resonant connection between the two core elements of the instrument.
