Lindy 38174 Fibre Optic HDMI IR Extender The Lindy 300m/1000m Fibre Optic HDMI & IR Extender is a first-class solution for transmitting 4K 60Hz Ultra HD signals over long distances that would not be possible with traditional copper cables. A standard LC Simplex fiber optic cable is used for this purpose. The HDMI 2.0 specification enables the transmission of detailed 4K Ultra HD resolutions with intelligent compression methods, whereby the signal is decompressed at the receiver for optically lossless images. HDR (High Dynamic Range) support allows video content to be reproduced with brilliance, more contrast and a wider color spectrum - perfect for eye-catching retail digital signage systems, impressive private installations or for an immersive experience of sporting events. HDCP 2.2 compatibility allows protected 4K content to be viewed with ease for movies and TV. Unlike copper-based systems, the use of fiber optic cables also guarantees immunity to electromagnetic interference and high-frequency magnetic fields, ensuring stable signal transmission in noisy and disruptive commercial and industrial environments. The extender can transmit signals over distances of up to 1000 m and therefore offers great flexibility during installation. The transmitter can be connected to a variety of HDMI source devices, e.g. Blu-ray players, 4K HDR media players or PCs, while the receiver can be set up together with a 4K display or projector in a suitable location within sight. It is particularly suitable for transmitting video data over long distances. The included mounting bracket allows installation under the table or discreetly behind displays. The bidirectional IR and RS232 ports allow source devices to be controlled from the display - conversely, the display can also be controlled from the HDMI source device. Alternatively, RS232 support allows control signals to be extended as part of a larger installation.
