A mulato chilli's flavour is a little similar to that of the Ancho. Large in size, they are the same size as the dried version of the Poblano varieties of chillies. It has tastes of liquorice, cherry, raisins and tobacco. It is used in Mexican mole sauce and to make chili sauce. It can also be ground into chili powder. Scoville Scale - 1,500 units - Mild to medium heat.
