The Union Audio ORBIT eq.xfader at a glance With the ORBIT eq.xfader, Union Audio has created an elegant extension for the ORBIT.6 mixer. This 19-inch, 1U device features two 4-band isolators and a crossfader. The isolators cover Low, Mid 1, Mid 2, and High frequency ranges. When the control is set to Infinity, it mutes that frequency range completely. Unlike other isolators, the ORBIT eq.xfader is specially designed for the ORBIT.6. First, connect the six Channel Direct outputs from the mixer to the six inputs on the isolator. Then connect the mixer insert to the Master insert on the eq.xfader. The Iso Insert allows you to loop in external gear like a stereo compressor. Channels 1 through 3 on the mixer are assigned to the left isolator, while channels 4 through 6 go to the right isolator. The crossfader lets you smoothly fade between these two isolator groups.
