Vintage Reissued VJ74BLK Gloss Black: Authentic Construction with Alder and Maple Inspired by the classic electric basses of the 1970s, the Vintage Reissued VJ74BLK Gloss Black is built from alder and finished in a rich gloss black. The maple neck is attached with four screws and a neck plate, and carries a jatoba fingerboard fitted with 20 frets and authentic dot inlays. With its well balanced C profile and a 38 mm nut width, the neck provides excellent playing comfort and smooth handling. The two Wiklkinson single coils of the Vintage Reissued VJ74BLK conjure up bass sounds with strong character, from funk to rock. Wilkinson pickups for versatile Vintage sounds The electronics feature two Wilkinson WJB single coil pickups developed by Trevor Wilkinson. These classically designed pickups, each with four pole piece pairs per string, produce a transparent sound with a fast attack. Individual volume controls allow the signals of both pickups to be blended, offering a wide range of tones for genres from rock and funk to blues and pop. The sound palette ranges from a deep, full low end when the middle pickup is soloed to the dry, punchy clarity of the bridge pickup and all combinations in between.
