The AF mechanism does not enagae properly anymore, the VR unit vibrates constantly despite being turned off and the focusing ring does not move evenly. The damage has also casued the lens to no longer be recognized by the camera either, rendering the item impossible to use. For these reasons the item is being sold as spares and repairs.
