Made in the USA, this snare features a 1.2mm thick brass shell that has been sandblasted and finished with Gretsch's signature hammering all around. Together with the 45° bearing edge, Gretsch Permatone heads (Made by Remo) and the 40-strand snare wire, this results in a sensitively responsive snare that can shine in all tunings. Particularly in high tunings, the brass-typical crack and popping rimshots come into their own and without reducing the sensitivity to ghost notes. Solid cast hoops with 4 mm thickness provide gently damped harmonics. The Gergo Borlai snare is rounded off by a classic Gretsch Lightning throw-off, which shines with smooth operation and a tension adjustment at the butt end.
